Out of Service

Well.

My internet is temporarily out of service.

And by that I mean that Mike & I are temporarily refusing to use it.

Why?

Well, I'll tell you why.

Because some idiot hacker(s) have been trying to take over our computer, that's why!

Ok, so maybe I'm the idiot for not renewing my Antivirus/spy-preventer/keep-away-the-hackers Software, but COME ON!

Why can't people just leave other people's stuff alone!

Anyway.
Until we get someone to fix it, we won't be risking our (probably already stolen) identities by turning on our computer.

Some people suck.

Kiddie Tag

Well. Looks like I'm going to participate in a Kiddie Tag.

No, I don't have any "kiddies".

But
Jennifer has kiddie tagged Mike, I think because she didn't want to discriminate against the non-parents and have us miss out on the tag-arific fun.

Thank you Jennifer.

Now. Here are 5 things about my kid-like husband.

1- He is a fisherman. He really really really likes to fish. This is an understatement.

2- He is an athlete. Plays all sports well. Plays baseball like a dream. And knows the game better than anyone I can think of.

3- He dislikes cucumbers. And going to the movie theater.

4- He is a worker. Our yard would not survive without him.

5- He is nice. Cleans the house, gets me food, keeps me warm, buys me stuff. He's also nice to other people.

And he eats carrots.

The End.

I tag whoever actually reads this that hasn't been tagged yet.

This is sad.

I copied this from my friend Cashelle's blog. Maybe if you live in the area, you can help.

Help Daryl and Ashley

AJ's cousin Daryl and his wife Ashely had a little boy that was born on September 4, 2008. After a completely healthy pregnancy he was born and started having complications. They then found out that he had a rare lung disorder where his body did not make surfactant. They have faced increndible struggles over the last 1 1/2 months. Their little baby, Jace, did not make it. He passed away last Sunday. My heart has been torn out for them and I would like to help them in anyway possible. The following paragraph was posted on her blog this morning. If you live in the area, would you please help them?...

Most of you know Daryl and Ashley Larsen. For those of you who don't, they are a young couple here in Perry, who just lost their baby to a rare lung disorder. Their loss is truly a tragedy. They are now experiencing the beginnings of what will be a land slide of medical bills. In an effort to aide them, there will be a one day fundraiser at the Maddox Steak House. On November 5, you can call Maddox at 723-2916 and order the Turkey Steak dinner. You can choose the 2 or 4 family meal at the regular price. All proceeds will then be donated to the Larsen family. You do need to remember to mention the Larsen family name when ordering. You can then pick up your meal at the take out window in the back of Maddox. It will be for lunch and dinner. Please spread the word. Feel free to copy and paste this post on your blog.

Game on.

Okay. So, I've obviously been out of the game lately.

Had I been keeping up with the blog this month, I would have posted about:

1- This salsa production. Made using the 1 million tomatoes Mike's parents grew in their garden....and the 3 tomatoes we grew in ours.

Why, yes. Mike is wearing an apron. And yes, it does say "pampered bride" on it.

2- Football Season. Pretty much his favorite time of year. Especially if it's a U of U game. Which I don't have a picture of.

3- Jenny's television debut. She is awesome. That is all.

This is the link, since I have no idea how to put the video on here.

4- My sweet little niece. She is soooooo much fun! I can't get enough of her. Congrats for the one millionth time to Mel & Doug - the proud & happy parents!

5- And finally, my trip to AZ...

with her... for her... where we stayed with them...where we paid a surprise visit to her...
I got to hold her...
and where this...this...
and this...and some other stuff that I won't post pictures of here, occurred.

And that is all for now, because this post alone took me several days. I know. Ridiculous.

And now......Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey

"If you saw two guys named Hambone and Flippy, which one would you think liked dolphins the most? I'd say Flippy, wouldn't you? You'd be wrong, though. It's Hambone."
-Jack Handey

Ah. Nothin' like a good Jack Handey thought to fill up your blog while you figure out what to post about next. Or until you can get to the computer that has your pictures saved on it. Or until your head stops hurting from the sinusitis.

The Marathon - Part 3

Still feelin' good

See.Hi Mom! Okay.....anytime now.....take the picture! Two of my main supporters.Listen buddy. They're cheering for ME. Put your hand down.Okay. Feelin' the burn. Definitely feelin' the burn.Uh. Kill me now.No, really.Hey, at least I'm ahead of the guy in the kilt.Oh. Well, I WAS ahead of the guy in the kilt.Nope. Not sure what's goin' on with my face there. I was probably sad about the guy in the kilt.Okay, apparently after one runs a marathon, she can't just have a normal face. You only WISH you could make a face like this.Ok. Seriously? I mean, seriously? We can't have ONE normal-faced post race picture?
That will work. Check out this hilarious poster Cami & her roommate April made. P.S. I did not pee my pants. I did, however, make good use of several of the port-a-potties. Too much information? Too bad.Rikki & I LOVE getting our picture taken. We LOVE it. Oh, and by the bathroom wall! Even better! We made it, Janille! We made it! Way to go us.Aaah. What a good one. I'm pretty sure he's more relieved that it's over than I am.Post-race chillin' with the famPost-race baby holdin'
THE END.

The Marathon - Part 2

Well. I did it.

I. ran. a. MARATHON.

And now, I don't want to ever do that again.

No, I am REALLY glad that I did this at least once. It feels good to have accomplished it. No, it feels GREAT to have accomplished it! It's hard to understand the feeling until you've actually done it (huh Janille). I would recommend trying it, if you are able. I can say that now, because it's over. If you had asked me during it, I would have told you to stay far far away from any marathons...and to take me with you. (But you would have had to carry me because, well, you know...)

I want to say Thanks Thanks Thanks to so many people.

Mom, Dad, Elise, Brevan, Eli, Dan, Alyssa, Halley, Caden, Nick, Nat, Alivia, and yes baby McKenzie too. Mom & Dad Parker, Melody, Doug, & Beza. Thanks for being there! I really only kept going because I knew that you guys were waiting along the way. And the signs were cool too.

Thanks also to the fam & friends who couldn't make it. For the phone calls, the flowers, the cards, the text messages, the blog comments.

Thanks to the friends who were there (Rikki & Cami) cheering & making fun. And for Cami's hilarious poster (pics to come later!). And to Janille's fam for cheering me on. That was nice too!

And to the friends who weren't there but were cheering in their hearts (um, hopefully lots of people).

Oh, and I can't leave out the other runners. Janille, Shelsie & her brother, Holly, Kim, Monica.

And thanks to the snooty girl who said "excuuuuse me!" to Shelsie when we were all cramming through the starting line and there was no way anyone could get by without touching someone...Shelsie & I are still laughing about her snooty tone and her ridiculousness, and it started the race with some humor. At least, for us. Some people should probably lighten up a little.

Thanks to the guy who sang the American Pie song out loud as he was running by, who I later learned sang out loud the whole race. Funny.

Thanks to the guy ahead of me near mile 4 who had the "in memory of Jean" shirt on. And the runner pushing the other guy in the wheelchair, both of which smiled and said Hi to me. Inspiring. And choked me up a little.

Oh, and the stations. I lived for the stations. Thanks to those sweet little volunteers handing me the water, gatorade, and banana chunks. And picking up all our cups & peels behind us. You guys are great.

And, really, thanks for the port-a-potty at mile 24. Really. You saved my life.

But most of all, a BIG PHAT THANKS to my husband. I won't even be able to name all of the things he did for me. But here are a few. During 5 months of training - ran my short ones with me (when I would let him) and got up early, dropped me off & brought me water, crackers, & gatorade for my long runs. Fixed me meals. Handled my breakdowns & lack of gratitude. Bought me shoes & running gear. Didn't complain about me buying more running gear. Called FedEx when my ipod didn't arrive when it was supposed to and took care of business. Arranged everything for the day before & the day of the marathon, including a bbq, and my family staying with us, and the pre-race meal the night before. Carried a bag of stuff for me during the marathon and rushed to different spots along the course to give it to me, along with my family. Ran with me during parts of the marathon. And basically just took care of my every need & want. Yup, he's a good one. Thanks a million, Miguel.

Well, I could go on and on. Oh wait...looks like I already did.

If I missed anyone, please just thank yourself for me, okay. Thanks.

P.S. COMING SOON.......MARATHON PICS!

The Marathon

Some of you may remember me blogging about THIS lofty goal and then having to clarify with THIS.

Well, my friends, the time is near.

5 months of training,
many miles run,
a little sickness,
a few tears,
many yogurts, crackers & Gatorades later

The Marathon is here.

To Be Continued...

Word to My Mother

Hi Mom.

Well, it turns out my Mom listens to my music.

And LIKES it.

The other day my Mom told me that she thought something was wrong with her computer because she always listens to my songs and now the songs weren't playing.

Ohhhh. My mom's so sweet.

Well, it wasn't your computer, Mom. It was me.

I had to take off the tunes for awhile because I got worried when my songs suddenly changed to different songs without me changing them. Has that ever happened to anyone else? Anyway, I got freaked and just took the whole song gadget thing off. So now I switched to a different song website and hopefully nothing weird happens with this one.

Mom, I don't know which songs you liked, but I tried to put a lot of the same one's I had on there before. Plus a few more. And a special one just for you. The rap one. J/k, of course, it's the Song for Mama.

P.S. The song player is at the very bottom of my blog. I had to move it there so the scroller didn't get cut off.

Mike on a bike

Mike.

Mike on a bike.

Mike on a bike with some guys that he like..........s.

Mike on a bike where he probably shouldn't even hike.

Mike on a bike where, uh, lightning could strike?

Bike on a Mike.

The End.

I know. I should really consider becoming a poet.

Mike has wanted me to post his trip to Moab for quite some time now. Uh, I'm pretty sure he went on the trip back in May. Yeah. Got right on that, didn't I? Anyway, he had a lot of fun & those are just some of many, many pics from the adventure (compliments of Nacho).
