Adoption

These are not my words.
They were written by an adoptive father.
A stranger to me, but his words are my feelings spoken...

"While we don’t set out to be changed by adoption, that is really the sum of what happens. Meaning to change the life of another, we ourselves are changed. We begin, before we ever meet our child, to sacrifice for them. We long for and love them, before we ever hold them. We worry for them and protect them, often times without even a name to call them. We prepare a room for them. Our families love them and inquire of them…  And in that waiting, longing, preparing, and dreaming, we begin to change. Our hearts soften, our life’s direction and focus shifts. Our goals and values are altered. People and children catch our eye. Poverty is harder to ignore, needs cannot quickly be forgotten. The hole in our hearts can no longer be dismissed."    ---Matt Tucker, Adoptive Father
