Oh, The Madness.

Well, here it is the last day of March and I haven't even mentioned March Madness. On this blog, that is. I mean, my family trash-talks one another nearly every other day during the NCAA tourney (a little something we like to call Madsen Madness), so it's not like it was totally neglected. But I do feel I should at least mention that I got 3 out of the final four right. Yay me. So, I don't think I will have to do the 'loser' song & dance at the Pioneer Day family gathering in Fairview. Jenny Frame, on the other hand......might want to start tuning her viola.

Speaking of madness.....

I'm done with the snow. And the coldness. Is anyone with me? I mean, I think I did pretty well this winter. I didn't hate it. I don't even think I really complained about it. But that was during the WINTER.

IS IT NOT SUPPOSED TO BE SPRING NOW?

SPRING?

Where's the sun? Where are the happy little flower buds, and the birds, and the warmth? Where are the tree blossoms? And me on my bike, and the flip-flops? I can't even tell if there IS any green grass. Do you know why???

Because I woke up to 3 inches of NEW SNOW on the ground today.

Could somebody please fly me to, um, Mexico, or something?

Non-post, post.

So, I began this post thinking that I would catch up on some tags that I noticed. Yes. I've been pulled into the world-o-tag. Twice that I know of. Thanks Emilee and Jennifer. But, sadly, I will not be able to post about this because I now only have 15 more minutes before the library closes. I know this because a loud, squeaky library worker's voice just announced it over the intercom. (Sorry Library Worker, but it's true.) Ok, now I only have 10 minutes. Aaah, that annoying voice. Ok, I'm out. Better posting next time.

Yes, another post.

I actually have a little time to spend at the library right now, so I'm doubling it up on the posting. Yeah, I can be crazy like that sometimes.

I have taken about a million (ok, like, maybe 2000) pictures since Christmas. And they are just sitting on my computer. I wasn't joking when I said I take pictures a lot. So, here's a little taste of what's been going on in our lives lately.

A little of this...

A lot of that...

and that...

(I couldn't resist.)

Visited her...

Went to some of these...

with them...

and them...

Hung out with them...

and them...

and them...

And it's taking far too long for these pics to upload so... That's all.

These girls!

Look who showed up for a tour!

Jennifer & Amy staring in wonder and amazement as I show them my SWEET, Old School pull-out stove. I know! You want one, don't you.

Faces of Mike

Back in December, I was so excited when I opened one of my gifts from Mike to find a Nikon CoolPix Digital Camera! No longer would I have to lug around my 35mm camera-o-wonder (because I "wonder" how it has lasted this long). No longer would I have to click and then hope that the picture turned out half-decent (which it usually didn't). No longer would I have to tweak the little latch on the film (yes, I was still using film) door so that the door didn't open and expose all my picture hopefuls. And no longer would I have to take my rolls of film (I know - old school) to the store, and pay loads and loads of money to develop them into mostly crappy pictures anyway. I could once again enjoy the photo-taking. I could now start using the camera-happy gene (passed down by my mother) that had laid dormant for so long. As I said, it was an exciting day for me.

So, I started taking pictures. Lots of them.
Mike is sooooooooo glad he got me this camera.

Blog Slacker

Yes, it's true. I've been a slacker of all things blog recently. It's not that I don't want to blog. And it's not that I don't have any ideas for blogging. It's just that the ideas that I have require uploading pictures, and uploading pictures requires that I go to the library. (No, we don't have internet access at home. Yes, we do live in the ice age). And going to the library requires time and energy and motivation....things I am in short supply of. Just call me Slack.

AHEM!

I said, "Who's with me?!" Right? I'm pretty sure that's what I said. Yup, I'm reading it right. "W-h-o-'-s w-i-t-h m-e-?-!"

Okay, so maybe I DID run the Fairview Fun Run 5k without training. Maybe I DID miss the parade...and the food...and the games....and almost all of the Pioneer Day celebration because I was puking (and--insert other sickening bodily function here--) my guts out at my parents house. Maybe I DID spend the rest of the day either in the bathroom or balled up in the fetal position in the guest room. And, yes, maybe this DID happen 2 years in a row!

But really, people! Does this mean I can't make a goal to overcome this and do better?!

I'd like to remind you criticizers that once upon a time, I was IN SHAPE. There was a time in my life that I RAN AND DID NOT GET SICK. In fact, there were several times that I even WON MEDALS in that Fun Run. SEVERAL!

Can't a girl be reminded of those times instead of the puky times? Noooooo. It's puky times ONLY.

Well, I'm not giving up yet. But, to help put your worrying minds a little more at ease, I will now rephrase my goal for you.

IN 2008 I will do this:

WALK
TRAIN
JOG
TRAIN
RUN
BIKE
TRAIN SOME MORE

Then I will probably do this:

FAIRVIEW FUN RUN

Then I will do this:

WALK
TRAIN
JOG
TRAIN
RUN
BIKE
TRAIN SOME MORE

THEN....I WILL DO THIS:

And now I will step off of my soapbox. That is all.

What?

Near the end of 2007, I was thinking about what I had accomplished during the year.

Yeah. Um, it wasn't much.

So, without taking you too deep into the strange thought process that ensued following that realization, I will just say that I ended up telling myself that in 2008, I will do this....

Who's with me?!

Sad Day

Yesterday was the last time I'll see this guy play at the Aggie Spectrum. Goodbye Jaycee Carroll. Also sad because it was the last home game of this season. Goodbye only-thing-that-keeps-me-sane-in-the-bitter-cold-winter.

Yay for Rikki!
