The Marathon

Some of you may remember me blogging about THIS lofty goal and then having to clarify with THIS.

Well, my friends, the time is near.

5 months of training,
many miles run,
a little sickness,
a few tears,
many yogurts, crackers & Gatorades later

The Marathon is here.

To Be Continued...

I take it that you are probably not going to Amy's Shower then? Am I correct? I can't believe it is here. What time are you doing it at? Where does it end?

Yeah Rikks, you are correct. I won't be making it to the shower (sniff, sniff) but please give her my happy shower regards. It starts at 7am, which probably puts me at the finish line about noon. Hopefully sooner than noon, but NO GUARANTEES on that. It ends at Merlin-Olsen Park. (That's on Center Street in Logan).

Good luck! What a great goal. I don't think I'll be lining the course to cheer (like I was at the half), but I know you'll have a great cheering team. Again, good luck!

Good Luck Annie,

I assume that my old personal trainer Mike is running it with you right?

My only word of advice is to avoid eating anything offered that you aren't used to. Somebody gave me gummy bears at mile 22. They looked so good at that point in the race but they sure didn't sit well for the last few miles.

Good luck Annie- I'm so excited and scared for you. I really wish I could be there. Here's some advice- don't go in a porta-potty and mile 23 (I almost couldn't stand up to get out of the porta-potty). Find someone to talk to- and enjoy the first 13 miles they are awesome at this time of year- the last 13 suck. Just jokes- you'll be great - love you, hpa
